Luis Miguel

Luis Miguel aka "El Sol de México" (The Sun of Mexico) or simply "El Sol" (The Sun) will be performing at the Palacio de Deportes on the 11th and 12th May 2012. His self-titled album celebrates his 30 years in music since his debut at 11 years old.
This Mexican native has won numerous Grammys, Latin Grammys, other awards and distinctions including this album achieving gold and platinum status in four countries, including the United States, within just three days of its release.
Since making the transition from child star to legitimate international artist, Luis Miguel has been known as one of the most revered and popular singers from Latin America ever. He successfully performs pop music, bolero, mariachi and romantic ballads and his wide vocal range has been praised by critics and other artists all over the world.
He’s often referred to as the “Latin Frank Sinatra” and Sinatra even personally invited Luis Miguel to participate on a duet on his album Duets II. His music is so widespread that it is popular in non-Spanish speaking continents such as Asia and Africa. The press stated that, at the time of his capture, the dictator Saddam Hussein had the album Segundo Romance, among his belongings!
If you don’t know who this guy is, clearly it’s time to get involved and it’s an ideal way to practice some Spanish after your Inhispania class too with new friends!
